Due to its importance in the Swahili culture and in local history, Zanzibars Stone Town has been declared a UN World Heritage Site. It is easy to get lost in the labyrinth formed by the narrow streets between the beautiful ancient architecture of this town, that has a lot to offer: You can visit the former slave market with the slave chambers, take a look at the House of Wonders or enter the Old Fort to sit in the former amphitheater.
